My love for the road in a vehicle I can't afford; visiting places with a plan I don't have (ripped from Baby Driver). Sipping in the way of life of people I don't know, jotting down the moments with my loved ones. Keeping close at heart the memories that will be made, and be reminisced about in years to come. For at the end, these treasures are more than silver or gold.
For the afternoon, we targeted to go to Jim thompson building. The traffic around city was chaotic and it was hard even to get a grab or taxi. As we were in the Q, a tuk tuk came. Seeing that the ang moh in front of me didn't want it, I flagged it down. From the map, it looked quite near actually. The tuk tuk wanted 200 baht but I said 100 baht and he accepted. Wow, very rare times that I successfully bargained :) The whole family hopped in and it was a fun ride, especially for Raiden. I believe that tuk tuk made an impression on him. Later on, we were to get him a nice replica of the Tuk Tuk Cha.
Jim thompson was quite nice, except that in the afternoon, it was really hot. Raiden was happy to just sit on the floor to play with the crushed granite floor. What we learnt was that Jim Thompson was an american architecture and he built a house in Bangkok then and stuffed it with many antiques and collectibles. And interestly, he went missing on his 62? birthday while on a trip to Cameroon highlands. He got famous from promoting thai silk to the world. His brand of thai silk was well known to the world.
